July 2018 Newsletter

Dear Friend of Servato,

The sun is shining bright, and major storms have avoided New Orleans so far this summer. Despite the good fortunes, we can not wait to be on our way to Denver for ISE EXPO. We have big plans next week and can not wait to connect with many of you at the Colorado Convention Center. Servato CEO and President, Chris Mangum, will be giving a seminar on Using Data to Improve Productivity and Efficiencies for Telecommunications Technicians on Thursday, August 16th at 8 am. In this July Newsletter edition we cover show information, trending news, and more from Servato HQ.

USDA Announces Rural Broadband Funding

As a part of the rural telecommunications economic development program, nearly $100 million will be granted and loaned to 11 different projects. The three grant projects exist in Idaho, Virginia, and Oklahoma and all incorporate community centers with free wifi access. Some will also offer free service to youth centers, libraries, and over 1,700 homes in total will now have service or greatly improved upon service. Thousands of subscribers and fiber miles round out the eight loan investments that will improve living standards for people in Iowa, Wisconsin, and South Dakota to name a few. The release chart can be found here. More rural development news can be found here, such as the Electric Infrastructure Loan Program for rural america

Valley Telephone Hardens Network

Over the course of the coming year, Valley will retrofit existing sites and add new sites with Servato’s patented service assurance technologies enabling Valley Telephone to deliver uninterrupted services to their customers. Servato plans to expand its management & monitoring services to include other key site infrastructure components. Valley’s investment in the network using Servato’s technology will serve as the foundation for an even more reliable network especially during power outages in Arizona and New Mexico where distance to and between sites can delay restoration of service. The SPS-248 will be the main critical power technology to outfit Valley's network, giving them the most cutting edge battery management technology to date.

Valley Telephone Cooperative was founded in 1962 after the underserved population of rural southeastern Arizona and southeastern New Mexico banded together to create a new service offering. The remaining century brought new opportunities for Valley to serve the people in surrounding regions by initially offering landline voice services and now additionally providing enhanced High-Speed Internet and business services. Now fifty-six years after establishment, Valley continues to impress its communities by ensuring reliability for over 7,000 rural customers.

ISE EXPO 2018

ICT professionals from across the country will converge upon Denver next week for one of the most reputable shows in the industry. One of the highlights from ISE 2016 that we shared in our June Newsletter was how automation and integrated technology will one day become ubiquitous for all maintenance efforts. This industry trend will help drive conversation for the Servato-hosted seminar.

Chris Mangum, CEO and President of Servato, will take the stage on Thursday, August 16th to expound upon how we can make sense of data efficiencies for technicians. Dedicated tools exist to improve productivity for their job functions, and Mangum will discuss this in length.

Sincerely,

The Servato Team
