Servato CEO to Moderate Backup Power Strategy Panel at ISE Expo
Executives from CenturyLink, FairPoint, New Lisbon Telephone Company & TDS Telecom to Discuss Best Practices for Power Reliability
SAN ANTONIO – September 19, 2016 – Servato Corp., a leading provider of energy management solutions, announced today that it will host a panel this week at ISE Expo 2016. Servato CEO, Chris Mangum, will moderate the discussion on battery power management strategies for telcos. Panelists will include Curtis Ashton, Principal Power Tech Support Engineer, CenturyLink; Jim Caron, Network Engineering Manager, FairPoint (NNE); John Greene, CEO, New Lisbon Telephone Company; and Daniel Jameson, Manager, Critical Systems and Infrastructure, TDS.
The Internet of Things revolution will add new stresses, require new capabilities, and demand more from network infrastructure. To realize an IoT future, it is necessary to improve best practices around network health, including backup power. Mangum will lead the discussion where the panelists will address this vision and how it affects their decisions on backup power. The panel will explore best practices for current forms of backup, how to decide what to place in the field, how to manage assets and how to assess new technologies.
The panelists will also speak about monitoring and remote management technologies and be asked to offer advice on selecting and deploying, such a technology including cost-benefit analysis and perceived savings. The panel will also address security including physical security of sites and assets as well as cybersecurity for connected devices that control critical power.
